Senderismo – Ayuntamiento de Betancuria

Betancuria posee varios senderos, algunos interconectados con pueblos de otros municipios:

Sendero Vega de Río Palmas – Presa de las Peñitas: este pequeño sendero termina en uno de los entornos más impresionantes de la geografía insular, el Barranco del Malpaso. Allí se ubica el pequeño santuario de la patrona de la isla; la Virgen de la Peña. El trayecto por el barranco está caracterizado por la presencia de bosques tarajales.
Sendero Agua de Bueyes – Vega de Río Palmas: Barrancos confinados entre zonas tradicionales de cultivo, junto a vegetación natural e introducida se dan cabida en esta ruta para conformar uno de los paisajes agrarios, aún hoy más productivos de la isla.
Sendero Antigua – Degollada de Marrubio – Betancuria: a través de este sendero nos introducimos en el Macizo de Betancuria y desde la cima, zona en la que si se detienen podrán admirar los paisajes alomados y la gran Llanura Central de Fuerteventura. Los valores naturales y culturales presentes en esta ruta así como su corto recorrido, lo hacen ideal para aquellos que quieran dedicar sólo un día al senderismo.
Sendero Tiscamanita – La Vega de Río Palmas: ruta singular que nos adentrará por montañas cuyas laderas han sido modificadas por el hombre para el aprovechamiento agrario y que han quedado como testigos mudos de otras épocas. Flora y fauna se unen para dar lugar a una zona de interés para la observación de un paisaje natural y cultural.

Betancuria has several trails, some interconnected with peoples of other municipalities:

Vega de Rio Palmas – las Peñitas dam Trail: this small trail ends in one of the most stunning environments of the island geography, the ravine of the Malpaso. There is located the small shrine of the patron saint of the island; Virgin of La Peña. The journey through the ravine is characterized by the presence of forests tarajales.
Agua de Bueyes – Vega de Rio Palmas: ravines confined between traditional areas of cultivation, along with natural and introduced vegetation are accommodated on this route to conform one of the agricultural landscapes, still more productive island.
Old trail – Cutthroat of Horehound – Betancuria: through this path in the massif of Betancuria and from the top, the area in which we introduce if they stop can admire the landscape of hillocks and the great Central Plain of Fuerteventura. The natural values and cultural present on this route as well as their short-haul, make it ideal for those who want to spend a day hiking.
Trail Tiscamanita – Vega de Rio Palmas: singular route that will take us through mountains whose slopes have been changed by man for agricultural use and which have been as mute witnesses of other times. Flora and fauna will unite to give rise to an area of interest for the observation of a natural and cultural landscape.

Betancuria hat mehrere Wanderwege, teilweise mit Volken anderer Gemeinden verbunden:

Sendero Vega de Río Palmas – Presa de las Peñitas: dieser kleine Weg endet an einem der schönsten Umgebungen auf der ganzen Insel, der Barranco del Malpaso. Dort wird die kleinen Schrein des Schutzheiligen der Insel befindet; la Virgen de la Peña. Die Fahrt durch die Schlucht ist durch die Anwesenheit von Tarajales Wald gekennzeichnet.
Wandern Agua de Bueyes – Vega de Río Palmas: Zwischen den traditionellen Anbaugebieten, mit natürlichen und eingeführt Vegetation Schluchten beschränkt bringen auf dieser Strecke kommen zu einem der Agrarlandschaften zu bilden, noch produktiver Inseln.
